Amerigo Vespucci Bronze Limited Edition Fountain Pen
2012 marked the 500th anniversary of the death of Amerigo Vespucci, the Florentine navigator who first recognised the fourth continent. The Visconti Amerigo Vespucci Bronze Limited Edition Fountain Pen was created to commemorate this crucial 500th anniversary. Visconti took its inspiration from a few important symbolic events, primarily Vespucci’s travels themselves and Waldeseemuller’s famous map of 1507, using a scrimshaw technique, introducing points and chiaroscuro into the graphic work. The special presentation box features a carved wooden astrolabe stand to display the pen.
